Vacanti, MD, is the Vandam/Covino Professor of Anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School and Anesthesiologist-in-Chief of the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. He has publishe more than 200 original articles, reviews, book chapters and abstracts, and he holds more than 20 patents. In addition, he serves as the Director for the Laboratories for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. He is the founding editor of the journal Tissue Engineering and founding president of the Tissue Engineering Society International.
