Debasish BiswasDebasish Biswas is presently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration, Vidyasagar University, West Bengal, since April 2012. He is also serving at EIILM, Kolkata, one of the eminent management intitutes of India. He is a visiting professor at State Labour Institute, Government of West Bengal. He was awarded a PhD degree in commerce on 7 September 2011 by the University of North Bengal. His topic of research was 'Productivity & Industrial Relations: An Empirical Study on Tea Estates in Dooars Region of West Bengal'. Dr Biswas obtained his MCom from the University of Burdwan in the year 2000 and also his MBA (HR) with first class from the same university in 2002. He has a diploma in labour laws (DLL) from Annamalai University in 2003 and a postgraduate diploma in hospital management (PGDHM) from the same university in 2006. He also obtained a postgraduate diploma in marketing management (PGDMM) and a postgraduate diploma in entrepreneurship again from Annamalai University in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Dr Biswas qualified UGC NET in the field of human resource management in 2008. He was awarded MPhil in commerce from Periyar University in 2008. Dr Biswas served as a full-time lecturer in the Department of Management, University of North Bengal, West Bengal, from 27 July 2010 to 31 March 2012. He served as a lecturer of management at Gyan Jyoti College,

Siliguri, affiliated to the University of North Bengal, for 5 years. His areas of specializations are accounting and financial management, human resource management, industrial relations and quantitative techniques. Dr Debasish Biswas is a prolific researcher. He has contributed 65 research papers in different interdisciplinary areas of management in different national seminars and conferences. He has authored 35 research papers in national and international journals of repute. He has been a resource person and chairperson in different national and international seminars in different parts of India. He is a life member of Indian Commerce Association, International Business Studies Academia (IBSA, Durgapur) and All India Accounting Association, Kolkata. He has authored five books titled Management Information System, 2016; Fundamentals of Financial Management, 2014; Industrial Relations & Labour Welfare, 2013; The Romance of Human Resource Management, 2013; and Relationship between Productivity and Industrial Relations, 2012 with Professor Debabrata Mitra, Department of Commerce, University of North Bengal, West Bengal.

He has co-edited a book titled Dynamic Evolution of Management Paradigm, 2017 with Dr Sudin Bag. Dr Biswas has also developed study materials for MBA course for the distance education wing of Tezpur Central University, Assam, and has developed study materials for MCom course for the distance education wing of Vidyasagar University, West Bengal.
