H N ThatoiDr. Hrudayanath Thatoi has done his M. Sc. M. Phil and Ph. D from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and is presently working as a Head, Department of Biotechnology, College of Engineering and Technology, Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Bhubaneswar Odisha, India. Dr. Thatoi has 12 years of teaching and more than 22 years of research experience in the field of microbiology and biotechnology. His areas of teaching and research include general and industrial microbiology, molecular biology, and genetic engineering. Dr.Thatoi has co-authored two reference books on "Cultivation of medicinal plants" and Medicinal Plants: Ethnomedicine and Biotechnology and a textbook on "Microbiology and Immunology" meant for Post Graduate students of life sciences and biotechnology. Besides, Dr. Thatoi has also edited twobooks; Microbial Biotechnology by APH publications, New Delhi and Microbial biotechnology: methods and applications by Norosha publications, New Delhi and one proceedings on "Mangrove Conservation and Restoration" published by Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chenai. He is member of various scientific societies and is also the reviewer and editor of national and international journals. He has guided 6 Ph.Ds till date and 8 are in progress.
