K.C. Tran has been dreaming up stories since she was old enough to hold a pencil (and occasionally used crayons when inspiration struck). She wrote and illustrated her first full-length book at the age of twelve-a magical adventure, of course-and asn't stopped creating since.

A lifelong lover of books, K.C. believes stories have the power to spark imaginations, heal hearts, and remind us that even on our loneliest days, friendship can find us in the most unexpected ways-sometimes even in the form of a talking dog!

My Best Friend Brutus is her joyful tribute to the courage of kids, the magic of connection, and the belief that books can be best friends, too.

When she's not writing, K.C. can usually be found with her nose in a book, spending time with family, or sharing stories with anyone who'll listen-especially if snacks are involved.
