MALCOLM HOLLAND has long held a fascination with the USAAF, stemming from stories of his grandfather, who, as an RAF radio engineer, was based with USAAF units in Essex. He has compiled many interviews with ground support personnel and his illustrted history Sweatin' Out the Mission provides an insight into all aspects of a working heavy bomber base as well as revealing stories of the 8th Air Force ground-crews who literally ‘sweated it out’ on the ground, throughout every mission.
