Martin RootDr. Root worked as a research technician and research support specialist at Cornell University for 22 years after receiving his BS degree from there in Biochemistry.' His MS is in Environmental Toxicology and his Ph.D. is in Nutrition from Cornell.' e spent 12 years with a startup company in Durham North Carolina, BioSignia, Inc., developing statistical models of chronic disease onset for the use by health professionals in communicating risk and preventive strategies.' Since 2008 he has been teaching and doing research at Appalachian State University where he directs the Graduate Program in Nutrition.' His research interests are in the nutrition of vascular diseases and their risk factors.He currently lives in Boone, NC with his wife Constance of over 40 years.'
