Ran Jia
Associate Professor Ran Jia earned his PhD from the University of Wuppertal (Germany) in 2011. He then conducted postdoc research at the Technical University of Munich (Germany) from January 20012 to October 2013. In November 2013, he joined JilinUniversity as an associate professor. Since November 2017, he has also been a visiting/adjunct researcher at the Institute of Solid-State Physics, University of Latvia. His research focuses on the theoretical and computational studies in condensed matter physics and chemistry, including theoretical method development, solar energy conversion, and the design of functional low-dimensional materials. He has been recognized for his contributions with the “Most Important Scientific Achievements in Latvian award in both 2019 and 2024.
