Ratan Kumar SambhariaRatan Kumar Sambharia was born in Bharawas village in Rewari district, Haryana, and has lived and worked in Rajasthan for over 35 years. He is the author of five collections of short stories, two collections of plays and a book on the celebrated Hndi writer Premchand and his associations with Dalit society. He is the editor of Dr Ambedkar: An Inspiring Life and his literary criticism and stories have been published in Hindi magazines. He has won several awards for his work, including the Sahara Samay Katha Award from the vice president of India, for his story, ‘Chapadasan’ (The Attendant). More than 25 PhD and MPhil scholars are working on his literary contributions, and his stories and plays are a part of the curriculum in Rajasthan University.
