His other publications include translations of Swissand French military rudimental manuals, and transcriptions of 19th century drum books into modernnotation. Ryan holds a degree in percussion from the University of Colorado, has signed contracts withCandlelight Records and Redefining Darkness Records as a drum set player, and is continually refininghis understanding of historical and modern international rudimental drumming.
