Tarlach McGonagle

Tarlach McGonagle, PhD, is a senior researcher/lecturer at the Institute for Information Law (IViR), University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He is also a senior researcher at the Netherlands Network for Human Rights Research and a member f the Euromedia Research Group. He specializes in and has published widely on a broad range of topics relating to international and European human rights law, media law and policy and journalism. He regularly does expert work for the Council of Europe and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. He was Rapporteur of the Council of Europe's committees of experts on protection of journalism and safety of journalists (2014-2015) and media pluralism and transparency of media ownership (2016-2017).
