About the Book

Challenging the Black Hole Theory is the sequel to Toward Singularity. The purpose of this book is to grapple with the multifaceted and complex issues that confront the masses of African Americans at the beginning of the 21st century in a systematic way and to tease out some pragmatic approaches to their resolution--i.e., to produce a roadmap that can be followed by selfless, disciplined, revolutionary-minded people who have the courage to do whatever it takes to change their own quiescent mindset into the required self-liberative Afrocentrist Mindset. These extraordinary people among us will not be satisfied until they seek and ultimately find critical understanding. The committed struggle and self-mastery of these people will transform them into the incorruptibly radical African American leaders whom we can trust to lead our people into their bright and glorious destiny.
About the Author: John Elliott Churchville, Ph.D., J.D., CLU, ChFC is an author, scholar-activist, educator, leadership coach, African Liberation theologian and attorney. He is Chairman & CEO of Liberation Fellowship Community Development Corporation, a principal in The Churchville Triad Group, LLC, and a Fellow at the Molefi Kete Asante Institute for Afrocentric Studies. Because of his innovative community organizing work in Southwest Georgia, the Mississippi Delta and Philadelphia, PA, from the 1960s to the present, John was chosen to be videographed for the joint Civil Rights History Project of the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian Institution. His 21/2 hour interview has been archived at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC and the Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. His experience and background include: civil rights voter registration work in the South in the early 1960s; creating and head-mastering an independent school for African American inner-city youth from the early 1960s until the late 1970s; functioning as the director of a national criminal justice program and fundraiser for an international charitable organization from the late 1970s to the early 1980s; developing a financial services, insurance and securities brokerage firm and Registered Investment Advisory service from the early to late-1980s; serving as a farm-workers' rights, criminal defense, Elderlaw, estate planning and corporate affairs attorney throughout the 1990s; functioning as an environmental and social justice advocate and leadership/organizational development and strategic planning consultant since 2004.
